Patients’ information on Chelat therapy
For some time now there exists an effective treatment of arteriosclerosis using a substance known for a long time: EDTA. An EDTA-Chelat-therapy can be used successfully for treating cerebral sclerosis, angina pectoris or smoker’s leg. The Chelat-therapy hopefully can alleviate the pain, even if the result mainly depends on the gravity of the disease.
Chelat-therapy is a treatment with infusions; the patient will be administered the synthetic amino acid EDTA in form of an infusion. EDTA binds metals which will afterwards be excreted by the urine.
EDTA has got an affinity with the so called transfer-metals like iron and copper as well as the toxic heavy metals like lead, mercury, cadmium and others which themselves can be potential catalysts of surplus free radical reactions. Metals will also be mobilized by special chemical compounds in the body tissue and will then be bound to the EDTA; they will afterwards be excreted by the kidneys and discharged.
It is supposed that free radicals are the cause of or even contribute to the development of various diseases of old age e.g. senile dementia, arthritis or arteriosclerosis.
Chelat-therapy is suitable for various indications:
Detoxification, particularly of toxic heavy metals
- Arteriosclerosis
- Coronary heart disease
- Diabetes mellitus and others
We apply the treatment to outpatients as it is tolerated well. Depending on the indication several infusion-therapies can be necessary.
