The Bio Impedance Analysis is a scientific instrument to measure quickly and reliably the body structure and thereby helpes to determine the nutritional condition (e.g. nutritional deficiency/obesity).

We measure the electric resistance by putting 4 electrodes on hands and feet: this examination is comparable to the ECG.

The following parameters can be determined:

• - Total body water and total body water distribution (oedema surveillance)
• - Muscle proportion
• - Proportion of body fat
• - Basal metabolic rate

By optimizing the nutritional condition we can obtain on the one hand a prophylaxis for various chronic diseases: on the other hand it is evident that cancer patients have a better quality of life and an increased fitness. This leads to an invigoration of the different immunofunctions, a prevention of infections, a stimulation of the whole body metabolism, a detoxification of the organs etc.

We have the possibility to put together an additional parenteral nutrition more specifically for cancer patients with a low BMI (body mass index) when applying the BIA measuring.
